This black & copper beauty was an amazing project. The owner picked up the truck at a Mecum auction, had some paint work done and the engine built by a notable local engine builder. Then he brought it to Deadwood Customs to make it special.

As soon as we saw the beautiful bed wood color, we knew this truck needed a black & copper theme.

In the interior we painted the gauge bezel copper then had our pinstriper add copper to the gauge needles and lettering on the dash. We freshened up the doors replacing the vinyl woodgrain panel with new black panels and armrests. We replaced the rear sliding window with one with a blacked-out frame.

On the body we replaced or refurbished all the lighting lenses, powder coated all trim and bumpers satin black, replaced the grill, door handles, gas cap, locks & mirrors with black units. Our pinstriper added copper touches to all the trim, handles & grill.

The chrome wheels had to go. We replace them with some Detroit Steel 18” Smoothies with Delray caps and Bridgestone Potenza Sports 245’s up front and 275’s in the rear. Our pinstriper helped us out again blacking out the caps and adding the copper Chevy logo and trim.

We completed a bunch of mechanical work as well. Wilwood disc brakes all around with Wilwood 2.5” drop spindles for the perfect stance, Eaton limited slip in the rear, CVF Racing serpentine conversion for the accessories, 4 row aluminum radiator with a Derale cooling solution and Hedman ceramic coated headers.

The engine bay was cleaned up with new wiring, moved the battery to the frame and added a trickle charger quick connect. Of course, the copper brake lines, air cleaner and engine tin were needed to match our theme. We decided a copper upper radiator tube would be better than a simple hose, so we made one and our pinstriper polished it, striped it up and clear coated it for protection. Since the engine looked so nice, we added some engine bay lighting to show it off at night time cars shows.

Special thanks to Cliff Jette at Artistry by Cliff our pinstriper extraordinaire and Dimitri Dominguez for the beautiful images of this wild ride.

This truck is a special one and we love the way it turned out!
